Our Story
Struggling to find quality care for his mother living with Alzheimer’s disease, Philadelphia native and Central High School graduate Richard Reisman set out to create a solution that would make a difference for families like his. In 2000, he established his own Comfort Keepers franchise dedicated to delivering compassionate, personalized care that empowers individuals to live with dignity and independence.
After bringing his vision to life, Richard faced his own battle with lung cancer. During this challenging time, one of the organization’s own caregivers provided support, giving his family a deeply personal understanding of the profound impact of compassionate, in-home care.
Today, his children Michele and Marc Reisman carry on their father’s legacy as second-generation owners. They continue to serve the Greater Philadelphia area with a heartfelt commitment to community and empathetic care.
Comfort Keepers is, and always will be, more than a business. It’s a family tradition of making a difference, one home at a time.
