Comfort Keepers® Home Care DFW Mid-Cities provides customized care for clients who are experiencing symptoms of dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Our Comfort Keepers® are specially trained and ready to help. We also provide respite care to family members who provide care to there seniors and need to be able to take a break and know that their loved one is in the hands of compassionate professional caregiver.

What is Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease Care?

In general, dementia is a decline in mental ability, such as memory loss or an inability to complete familiar tasks, serious enough to interfere with a person’s daily life. Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia, accounting for 50 to 80 percent of dementia cases. Our services help people with these symptoms by focusing on their remaining abilities and strengths, while assisting with tasks that have become difficult for the client to perform.

Caregiving plays an important role in providing care and support to people living with Alzheimer's and dementia. We offer in home dementia and memory care services in the DFW Mid-Cities that includes assistance with personal care, household tasks, and errands, as well as trained and experienced memory care and Alzheimer's care. Other tasks our caregivers are trained to provide: assistance with daily tasks (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and feeding. Our professional caregivers also offer emotional support to you loved ones, which can help to improve their quality of life. While caregiving can be difficult, it is rewarding when you see the joy on your loved one's face when they realize we are there to help.

How Comfort Keepers Can Help

Our specially trained dementia-care caregivers will:

  • Help maintain a safe environment for the client
  • Engage the client in activities that can stimulate the senses, such as music, puzzles and games
  • Provide meals and meal prep
  • Standby assist and bathing assistance
  • Assist with dressing, grooming and other ADLs
  • Support the client and the family through the changing behaviors often seen with dementia

All of these activities will be part of an individualized care plan developed just for you and your loved one formulated to match the needs of you and your senior.

Depending on the client’s needs, Comfort Keepers can provide care for just a few hours a week or provide full-time, in-home care 24 hours a day. Through our 24-hour senior care service, a team of caregivers will manage caregiving responsibilities in shifts managed by one of our client care coordinators.. This offers clients and their families’ full-time peace of mind.
