Get your questions answered about our quality home care services in Marysville, CA
What is home care and how does it differ from home healthcare?
In our line of work, home care typically refers to non-medical services provided by trained caregivers in the client’s home, such as companionship, homemaking assistance, and personal care, whereas home healthcare refers to therapy and other services usually provided by skilled nurses.
What services does Comfort Keepers provide?
At Comfort Keepers, we provide an array of quality home care services designed to support and promote independence at home. Our trained caregivers assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, grocery and errands, transportation, medication reminders, and more. They provide respite care for family caregivers when needed too. We also offer a selection of safety products and provide specialized services such as dementia care, end of life care, and much more. It is important to note that our services may slightly vary by state and location.
How do you select Comfort Keepers?
All our employees – the special people we like to call Comfort Keepers – have been carefully screened and trained before getting a job at our agency. Prior to joining our team, they all underwent thorough background checks and had to submit references from reliable sources. Our goal is to work with the most trustworthy and dedicated caregivers for your full peace of mind.
How much does in-home care cost?
While we always strive to keep care as affordable as possible, the final cost is based on the services and level of care you require. For a list of services and rates for your area, we encourage you to contact your nearest Comfort Keepers office.
Are services available 24 hours, 7 days a week?
Of course, our quality home care services can be scheduled from a few hours a day up to 24/7, depending on what works best for your family.
Can you provide services on short notice?
We can and we do. When sudden and unexpected situations arise, we can provide care on an as-needed basis.
Do you provide services to those in nursing homes or assisted living communities?
Yes. When residents in senior living communities require additional levels of care, Comfort Keepers can be there to assist them.
Is there a written plan of care for each client? Do these plans get modified and if so, how often?
All our locations are instructed to develop highly customized, confidential care plans to address the unique needs of each senior we serve. As care needs often have a tendency to shift or increase, care plans are typically reviewed biannually.
What if my Comfort Keeper is sick or on vacation?
Each Comfort Keepers location has a roster of experienced caregivers ready to step in when a team member is on leave. If your personal Comfort Keeper is unavailable for any reason, our local client care coordinator will arrange and introduce an interim caregiver to ensure your quality home care services are undisrupted.
What are ADLs and IADLs?
The term Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) is used to describe basic tasks necessary for normal day-to-day functioning such as dressing, eating, mobility, toileting, and hygiene. Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) refers to activities that are instrumental in maintaining one’s quality of life, including cooking, shopping for groceries, laundering, paying bills, performing various chores around the house, and more.
