How to Use Our Home Health Services in Petoskey and Traverse City, MI 

Comfort Keepers has monthly plans and periodic home health services for seniors in Traverse City, MI and the surrounding area

Finding and understanding home health services isn’t always an easy task, but Comfort Keepers makes it effortless. The following information will better help you understand the monthly plans and periodic services available to you in the Traverse City, MI and Petoskey, MI areas. Monthly Plans

Monthly plans and invoicing: 

Monthly plans are for ongoing regular scheduled sessions where stable schedules and teams are needed. 

Monthly plan plans are used for regular scheduled sessions.  This allows your Client Care Coordinator and Account Specialist to pre plan and pre-reserve your caregiving team. 

Our members enjoy the convenience of monthly billing charged on the 4th Tuesday of the month.

Plans are month to month; this gives our members the flexibility and stability they need to stay independent and give them the quality of life they deserve.    

Monthly plans give our members peace of mind that even while in the hospital or transitioning to another location their team will be with them. Providing comfort and home health services through those difficult times.  

Monthly plans are non-refundable, and no credits are given for cancelled sessions.  Sessions may be moved from one day to another with 48-hour advanced notice. 

Periodic Service 

Periodic services: With 48 hour notice Comfort Keeper Members may add on periodic services to their monthly plan or use as a standalone service.  This adds flexibility for our members and their families. Comfort Keepers members also have the flexibility to cancel periodic sessions with 48-hour notice.  Please note when using periodic services, your regular team members may not be available.  

Emergencies: Members have the comfort and peace of mind that home health services are available same day.  No one plans for an emergency.  Comfort Keepers serves as the emergency backup plan for primary caregivers and family.   Emergency services are billed $10.00 more per hour if less than 48-hour notice is given but more than 24-hour notice.  $20.00 more per hour is charged for less than 24-hour notice.   

Packages: Packages are available for those folks that are transitioning home from the hospital, visiting the area or just need a few days of services. These packages are custom to each Members situation. Our members enjoy the worry fee flat rate to accommodate their custom plan of care. Periodic services may be added to the package with 48-hour notice; although there are no refunds for unused sessions.

Invoicing

Holidays: If your care is necessary to sustain life, Comfort Keepers will work with you to arrange for service on major holidays. However, if Comfort Keepers is not providing essential services, your Service Coordinator will work with you to reschedule your service on another day so that our caregivers may spend time with their families on major holidays. Any service provided on a holiday will be billed at 1.5 the regular hourly rate. 

Form of Payment: We require information to debit a bank account, a credit card or a debit card to pay for services. Your bank or credit card statement will show that the payments were made to RLK Investments, Inc. Insufficient Funds/Denied Transaction Fees: A fee of $50.00 per incident will be assessed. A convenience fee of 3% of the invoice total will be assessed to cover payment processing cost. 

Third Party Payers: Comfort Keepers will submit paid invoices and supporting documentation to you, and as a courtesy, to third party payers such as insurance companies and government agencies. However, you are ultimately liable for any fees and costs not covered or paid by your insurance or authorizing agency. This includes last minute cancellations, sending caregivers home early, non-payment for refusal of required home health services, additional caregiver hours and mileage outside of authorizations, non-reimbursed holiday time, and others. Questions about non-payment should be directed to the third-party payer. 

Advance Payment: Funds will be withdrawn to pay invoices on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Comfort Keepers takes requests for service verbally and by requesting service verbally you are entering into an oral contract and are obligated to pay for the services requested. Charges for periodic or emergency session will be added to your next invoice. Paid invoices are emailed after payment is processed.
