Comfort Keepers In-Home Care in Carrollton, Texas.

Veteran Home Care and Benefits

Our nation’s Veterans have preserved our way of life. At Comfort Keepers it is our honor to preserve the ways if life of these Veterans. We have partnered with the American Veterans Care Connection (AVCC) to serve Veterans in the Carrollton, TX and surrounding areas as best we can. The relationship we have with the AVCC helps us ensure that our clients can access the different benefit programs available to them.  This access can help Veterans take advantage of the benefits that they deserve and receive the care that they need.

Our Services

Comfort Keepers provides a vast array of in-home care services for all clients. Some of these care services are covered under VA program benefits. This coverage is available through subsidies from the government. In order to be eligible for benefits, specific criteria must be met.

Determining eligibility can be a complicated process. We provide you with the information you need to determine eligibility and to expedite the process of receiving benefits. This information will help you or your loved one avoid potential pension claim delays.

Once a client is approved for benefit in a Veterans Affairs program, he or she can take advantage of Comfort Keepers’ care services.  Veteran care programs for which you may qualify include:

  • Veteran’s Aid and Attendance Benefit Program
  • Homemaker and Home Health Aide Program

Who Qualifies?

The Aid and Attendance program dictates that if a Veteran or a Veteran’s spouse served ninety consecutive days of active military duty and if at least one of these days was during a U.S. declared war, he or she may qualify or may be partially qualified. Other qualifications for the program are financial and are related to a documented physical need for in-home care. To begin the application process, you will need:

  • Original discharge certificate
  • Marriage certificate (divorce papers from any prior marriages, if applicable)
  • Death certificate of veteran (if applicable)
  • Social Security numbers for the veteran and spouse

Determining whether or not you or a loved one is qualified often takes only fifteen minutes and can be done over the phone.
