Our Story

My journey into caregiving started long before I ever thought about running a business. When my brother, Brent, was seventeen he was in a serious accident that left him bound to a wheelchair. Overnight, everything changed. My mother and I became his caregivers - learning every day what it meant to help someone you love stay safe, supported, and independent.

Those years taught us patience, resilience, and the importance of treating every person with dignity. When Brent began receiving services from Comfort Keepers, we saw firsthand the difference quality care could make. Later, inspired by that experience, he decided to open a Comfort Keepers location of his own.

I jumped in right away - working directly with clients to build care plans that truly fit their needs. Every family reminded me of our own journey, and why good care matters so much.

After owning the Birmingham office for more than 20 years, we expanded our mission and purchased the Opelika location as well. A milestone that reflects thousands of hours of care, countless relationships, and a commitment that has never wavered.

Today I’m proud to run the business with my wife, Shelley. Our heart for service comes from real-life experience. We know what it feels like to want the very best for someone you love; and we’re honored to help others feel safe, supported, and independent in the place they call home.
