Along with providing in home elder care options our agency would also like to make sure you are aware of these other senior resources in Southen Idaho

Our agency wants to make sure your loved one is getting all the support they need.  This may mean considering other resources provided by your community in addition to the in home elder care provided.  Caregivers can help seniors get in contact with local programs and safely transport them to destinations.

Ada County Disaster Prep | (208) 577-4750

Your city is a member of a council operated by Ada City-County Emergency Management (ACCEM).  This group is responsible for helping citizens be educated on disasters in the area, how to be prepared for them, and how to recover.  Make sure your loved one’s caregiver is aware of this plan.  They can help them create one if needed!

Meridian Library District

Dive into a book, take a class, join a club, or go to an event at your local public library.  They even have a community outreach program that includes a ‘bookmobile’ 7 days a week at select locations.  A great outlet for seniors to meet new people, build new skills, and spend time with family.

Created in 2015, this 14 member board was created to represent seniors in the community.  Their goal?  To enhance their lives so they can continue to thrive.  This can include helping them maintain their health and safety through classes, programs, and other group activities.

Volunteer Opportunities | (208) 489-0562

There is not limit as to what age you can stop giving back.  Being involved in volunteer opportunities allows seniors to not only give back to their community, but to interact with others and possible learn a new skill.  This can be great for their mental health as it is good exercise for the mind, and they can form new lasting relationships with fellow volunteers.

For seniors that need more than in home elder care, this community program can help loved ones that are unable to make sound decisions, or take care of their basic needs on their own.  You can schedule a free consultation with our advisors to see if this option is best for your loved one.

Ada County Faces Of Hope | (208) 577-4400

The Faces Of Hope is a one stop support center for victims of abuse throughout the county.  They can help those in situations of domestic violence, sexual violence, elder abuse, child abuse, and more for no cost.  There are 17 private and public partners with the resources needed to collaborate with medical and law enforcement staff as well as therapist, support groups and financial aid.

Alzheimer’s Association- The Greater Idaho Chapter

Comfort Keepers is proud to partner with this organization in order to bring the highest quality care to those that have developed dementia or Alzheimer’s.  Through their website you can educate yourself on the diseases, find a screening center, and get help from professionals from agencies like ours.

EMS & Fire

We can do everything to prevent an accident from happening to no avail.  What counts is that your loved one gets the help they need quickly.  It is needed to lessen the severity of any issue, and having a plan in place is part of being a responsible senior at home.  Always remember to dial 911 for emergencies!
