Village of Wilmette

The village of Wilmette was created by the 1924 merger of two older villages: Wilmette and Gross Point. On the east, Wilmette developed on a wooded tract bordering Lake Michigan. On the west, Gross Point was the center of a German immigrant farming community that spread across the open fields west of what is now Ridge Road. Wilmette’s road to incorporation began in 1869, a time during which the railroads played a crucial role in development. The Edens Expressway opened in 1951 and the postwar baby boom brought rapid change to Wilmette. Farmland disappeared as new homes and parks sprang up, along with the Edens Plaza (1956) and the Plaza del Logo (1968) shopping centers. The village is also home to the Baha'i House of Worship (1953), the first such temple to be built in North America. Comfort Keepers has been proudly serving seniors and families in Wilmette since 2000.

Sometimes a little help means a lot.

Comfort Keepers provides industry-leading home care services that allow seniors in Wilmette to continue living independently – and safely – in their own homes. For the Comfort Keepers team, our work is personal: we care for your loved one as if they were a member of our own family.

The first step in starting a relationship with Comfort Keepers Wilmette is simple, but it is the key to our overall success. Our experienced home care professionals will meet with you and your loved ones to assess the senior’s medical condition, living environment and personal preferences. This allows for the creation of a comprehensive plan of service, tailored to a client’s individual needs. During this meeting, we can discuss options such as:

  • Personal Care
  • Companion Care
  • Interactive Caregiving
  • Respite Care
  • Transitioning/Post-Surgical Care
  • Alzheimer’s Care and Dementia Care
  • End-of-Life Care

Comfort Keepers Wilmette also works in partnership Illinois Bone and Joint Institute-HP, North Shore Senior Center and Warren Barr in order to better serve our clients and families.
