Village of Deerfield

The village of Deerfield was settled in 1835 as “Leclair” – a name that fell out of favor when residents acknowledged the numerous deer roaming wild in the area. The Caspar Ott House – today believed to be the oldest building in Lake County – was built in 1837. The original Wilmot School followed in 1847, around the time the home of Lyman Wilmot was being used as a stop on the Underground Railroad. Tragedy struck the village in 1944, when a U.S. Navy plane crashed on the current site of the Deerfield Public Library, killing Ensign Milton C. Pickens. In 1982, the village started its first community farm, which became a huge success. Today, Deerfield is home to many corporations such as Walgreens, Baxter and Takeda, the Deerfield Square and Deerbrook Mall shopping areas and the high-ranking Deerfield High School. Comfort Keepers has been serving Deerfield seniors and families since 2000.

Sometimes a little help means a lot.

Comfort Keepers provides industry-leading home care services that allow seniors in Deerfield to continue living independently – and safely – in their own homes. For the Comfort Keepers team, our work is personal: we care for your loved one as if they were a member of our own family.

The first step in starting a relationship with Comfort Keepers Deerfield is simple, but it is the key to our overall success. Our experienced home care professionals will meet with you and your loved ones to assess the senior’s medical condition, living environment and personal preferences. This allows for the creation of a comprehensive plan of service, tailored to a client’s individual needs. During this meeting, we can discuss options such as:

  • Personal Care
  • Companion Care
  • Interactive Caregiving
  • Respite Care
  • Transitioning/Post-Surgical Care
  • Alzheimer’s Care and Dementia Care
  • End-of-Life Care

Comfort Keepers Deerfield also works in partnership with Brentwood North, CJE Senior Life Assisted Living, Highland Park Hospital, One Deerfield Place Retirement Community, Patty Turner Senior Center, Warren Barr and Whitehall of Deerfield in order to better serve our clients and families.
