Village of Highland Park

Indian trails and mounds indicate that before the Black Hawk War, the Potawatomi lived in the area today known as Highland Park. German immigrants played a role in the community's early development, founding two village ports, St. Johns (1847), and Port Clinton (1850), in order to facilitate trade. By 1856, a depot for the Chicago and Milwaukee Railroad was in service. Highland Park was established as a city in 1869, with a population of 500, and the neighboring village of Ravinia was annexed in 1899. In the subsequent decades, the area's picturesque bluffs and lake vistas made Highland Park a popular place for Chicago’s affluent professionals to build elaborate homes. Today, Highland Park features a vibrant downtown shopping district, structures listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Ravinia Festival (summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra), three public beaches and the North Shore Yacht Club. Comfort Keepers has been serving Highland Park families since 2000.

Sometimes a little help means a lot.

Comfort Keepers provides industry-leading home care services that allow seniors in Highland Park to continue living independently – and safely – in their own homes. For the Comfort Keepers team, our work is personal: we care for your loved one as if they were a member of our own family.

The first step in starting a relationship with Comfort Keepers Highland Park is simple, but it is the key to our overall success. Our experienced home care professionals will meet with you and your loved ones to assess the senior’s medical condition, living environment and personal preferences. This allows for the creation of a comprehensive plan of service, tailored to a client’s individual needs. During this meeting, we can discuss options such as:

  • Personal Care
  • Companion Care
  • Interactive Caregiving
  • Respite Care
  • Transitioning/Post-Surgical Care
  • Alzheimer’s Care and Dementia Care
  • End-of-Life Care

Comfort Keepers Highland Park also works in partnership with Highland Park Hospital, Highland Park Senior Center, Illinois Bone and Joint Institute-HP, Silverado Memory Care and Warren Barr in order to better serve our clients and families.
