Last year my mother was referred to hospice and given a very grim (six month) prognosis. It seemed obvious that my devoted father, a D-Day Veteran, would not be able to give my mom the care she needed. I thought my only option was a nursing home, but neither of my parents wanted to leave the comfort and security of their home of 40 plus years. That's when my parent's hospice nurse recommended Comfort Keepers of Greater Charleston. Comfort Keepers manager, Thomas Doyle, presented my family and I with a welcomed option. My parents could stay in the home they loved, receive one on one in-home care, and decrease the trauma and expense of putting my mom in a long term care facility. That was about a year ago. At my mother's last doctor visit, the physician commented on how great my mom was doing and that he would see her again next year on that date. What a difference quality in-home care can make. My mother's caregiver, Lynn, is now like a part of the family and I don't know what my folks would have done without her. I'm a registered nurse, and I highly recommend Comfort Keepers to anyone who is seeking the best option in care for seniors and family members.
My father had lost most of his mobility after his stroke, and we thought we had no other chose but to put him in a nursing home. While I was talking to my Dad's social worker at the hospital, she suggested we call Comfort Keepers. Mr. Doyle and his staff put together a plan that allowed my father to live in the house that he and my mother build 40 years ago. Our caregiver, Cheryl, is an angel and we don't know what we would do without her.
I had been taking care of my Mom who has Alzheimer's for almost a year when it just became too big of a job for one person to handle. Comfort Keepers was a God send. They come in three days a week and give me a chance to get things done outside our home. My Mom loves her caregiver, and I can feel secure leaving Mom in her care. I highly recommend Comfort Keeper to anyone who has a loved one who needs homecare.
Great care and great service! Thomas and Jackie do a wonderful job.
My Mom had been falling a lot and I was starting to think she might break her hip if I didn't get her some help while my wife and I were at work. A friend of ours who is a nurse recommended Comfort Keeper, and Oh' what a difference that made. Stephanie, our caregiver, comes in the morning and stays with my Mom until we get home in the afternoon. She helps Mom with her daily routine and they have a great time together. Comfort Keepers provides a great service at an affordable price.
