Saturday, August 16, 2025 | 9:00 AMAs part of the CAREGIVING national initiative, this day-long mini-conference will provide practical information to help caregivers care for their loved ones and themselves.
The day will include:
- CAREGIVING preview
- Overview of the Caregiving Landscape with Linda Levin, CEO, ElderSource & Susan Ponder-Stansel, President & CEO, Alivia Care
- Navigating the Network: A session on understanding the various choices families have in providing their loved one with safe, professional care, whether it’s at home, in a skilled nursing facility, assisted, or independent living. Speakers Jamie Glavich, owner, Almost Home DayBreak, and Kathryn Murphy, RN, MSN, CMC, aging life care consultant, owner, Comfort Keepers.
- How Do I Pay for Care and What are My Options?: A discussion on Medicare, Medicaid, VA benefits, and private insurance to cover long-term care costs. Speakers Megan Wall, attorney, Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, and Bubba Schlader, VA and long-term care benefits specialists.
- Panel Discussion with Caregivers: Hear valuable insights from those who have “walked the walk” and those still on the journey. Panelists include Cheryl Jefferson and Marc Dickerson.
- Laughter Yoga with Amanda Jones
