About San Pedro

Located at the end of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, San Pedro is another beautiful waterfront city, bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Los Angeles River. San Pedro hosts the annual Shakespeare by the Sea Festival each summer, bringing hundreds of theater and literature lovers alike. Additionally, tourists flock to this beach city for maritime attractions: the Los Angeles Maritime Museum, the USS Iowa, and the SS Lane Victory. San Pedro is the closest land point to Santa Catalina Island, and it services visitors to the island through its Catalina Express Fleet and Island Express Helicopter Service.

Because of the area’s proximity to the Los Angeles Air Force Base, the city has a high population of veterans, which we are proud to serve. We work with Little Company of Mary and the Kaiser Medical Center to offer care to their patients after they are discharged.  San Pedro also is a big contributor to our annual Stop Senior Hunger Campaign. We also love serving the community with our Nourish Senior life program.
