Our Story
Why Comfort Keepers Home Care provides services in your area?

Butch Irwin has spent the last three decades doing what he enjoys the most - helping others and providing compassionate care. From a young age, he gave aid to his grandfather, who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident and relied on crutches and a prosthetic leg for mobility. His grandfather, although disabled, maintained an independent life, which inspired the young Butch to stay positive and strong, even in the face of life’s challenges. It brought Butch great satisfaction to aid someone who was such an inspiration to him, so much so that it would later become his lifelong career.
After high school, Butch looked into possible career paths with the help of his newly married wife, Dawn. Dawn was attending nursing school at the time, a career she currently holds today as a full-time Registered Nurse. Suggesting he would make a great respiratory therapist, Butch decided to look further into the field. It didn't take long for it to become clear that a career in the field was the right path for him. Helping patients directly and seeing the impact it had on their day-to-day lives was a perfect fit.
Compassionate Services
For the past 30 years, Butch has served as a Field Operations Manager for a company that works directly with the VA, a manager for a national respiratory company, and an in-home caregiver working one-on-one with patients of eldercare services. Over those years, Butch and Dawn raised six children while both dedicating their lives to patient care, Butch as a Respiratory Therapist and Dawn as a Registered Nurse.
After the kids were grown and years had passed, Butch started to wonder how he could take what he enjoyed the most about his field and make it his primary focus, home health care. Working for large companies for most of his career, Butch realized that direct patient care wasn't always what he was tasked to do, even though it was his true passion. In what seemed serendipitous, Butch discovered Comfort Keepers. Now that's the satisfaction of helping others that he experienced from a young age, which he could fulfill.
As a Comfort Keeper®, Butch looks forward to lending a helping hand. If you or a loved one needs care services, give Comfort Keepers Home Care a call at (734) 547-6878 and let us help! We look forward to assisting you in doing what we love most: maintaining independence.
