How to Adjust to a Change in Routines

Comfort Keepers In-Home Care in Wichita, Kansas.

Help Seniors in Wichita, KS Adjust to Routine Changes Due to Coronavirus

Comfort Keepers has taken special measures to ensure the seniors in our care are protected during this time.

State and local health agencies have been taking measures to ensure that seniors are physically protected during this COVID-19 outbreak, including directives for those 65 and older to stay home. This has caused a change in everyone’s normal, daily routines, and it can take a toll on a person’s mental and physical health. It’s important to develop a plan for seniors along with their family, caregivers and health professionals to ensure all of their needs are met.

At Comfort Keepers, our caregivers are doing their best to keep seniors safe, reassured, active and cared for during this time. They’re trained in infection control and senior care and work in a one-on-one capacity, which reduces the risk of Coronavirus exposure. In addition, our team picks up prescriptions, grocery shops, provides housekeeping and helps with orders of supplies, meals and other necessities.

Not only do we assist with daily tasks, but we’re also focused on Elevating the Human Spirit™. Our caregivers develop relationships with our clients to help them fight depression and loneliness, especially while remaining at home. We help support their families and loved ones, too, by giving reassurance and addressing any concerns or questions.

Whenever possible, we’re practicing Interactive Caregiving™. Our caregivers provide virtual check-ins, and instead of doing for a client, we do with them. This helps keep seniors active and engaged and provides a sense of normalcy in an uncertain time.
