According to the NIA, you should also consider, “what makes life meaningful for you” and “would you be content if an emergency leaves you simply able to spend your days listening to books or tape or gazing out the window?”
More considerations include stroke care after the fact, organ donation, do not resuscitate guidelines and procedures for dementia care. Developing a Living Will, Power of Attorney documentation and other planning documents for Advanced Directive care is critical and should be done immediately if you haven’t done so already.
