"My military experience played an important part in instilling in me a sense of character and discipline that has served me throughout my life."  - Chuck Norris

Comfort Keepers is proud to honor and serve all our nation's veterans. We are grateful for their service and strive to provide the services and supports necessary for them to maintain their freedom, independence, and quality of life while they safely reside in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. Many senior veterans need help along these lines and the costs of those supports can add up. The good news is that veterans' care benefits may be available to help with the cost of support from home care agencies.

Veteran Benefits Can Cover the Costs of Home Care Agencies in Dayton, OH

Many veterans are not aware that they and their surviving spouse can apply for assistance through the Veterans Administration (VA) to cover the costs of help for home care agencies. Comfort Keepers can help seniors determine their eligibility for services and guide them through the application process, including helping them gather necessary documents, filling out forms, and communicating with the VA.

If your senior loved one is an honorably discharged veteran who served at least 90 days on active duty with one day occurring during wartime, they may qualify for veterans' care. If you are not sure or need help figuring out where to start, contact Comfort Keepers for a free in-home consultation. Remember, the surviving spouse of an eligible veteran can also receive VA benefits.

Benefits are determined based on need but may include in-home care assistance such as light housekeeping and laundry support, meal preparation, and medication management. Personal care such as bathing, grooming, and dressing are also available. Comfort Keepers also provides local transportation, respite services, hospital to home transitioning, end of life care, and offers specialized care for seniors with dementia of Alzheimer's disease.
