Uplifting in-home care for veterans
Veteran’s benefits can help with the cost of in-home care.
Comfort Keepers Twin Cities is credentialed by the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide home care assistance to veterans who qualify through the VA’s process. Depending on your eligibility, in home care and nursing services can be provided at no cost to you.
If you are a veteran or the surviving spouse of a veteran requiring in-home care, you may be eligible to receive pension benefits from the VA through the Veterans Improved Pension Benefit Program. In fact, as a veteran, or their spouse, who has served for at least 90 consecutive days of active military duty, with at least 24 hours of their active military duty during a wartime, you are already partially qualified.
Other qualifications include specific financial criteria and a documented physical need for in-home elder care

Our office can contact local VA resources as well as help you get the necessary paperwork together for the VA to evaluate your eligibility for the program. Working together to properly submit your paperwork can help limit any delays in getting the answers you need.
To begin the process you will need documentation, such as the following:
- Original discharge certificate
- Marriage certificate (divorce papers from any prior marriages, if applicable)
- Death certificate of veteran (if applicable)
- Social Security numbers for the veteran and spouse
