Comfort Keepers Offers In-Home Care for Veterans in Monroe, MI

At Comfort Keepers of Monroe, MI we are honored to provide in-home care for veterans who served our nation and preserved our way of life. Our agency works with local VA clinics and VA hospitals to provide home care assistance to veterans who qualify through the VA’s Aid & Attendance and Housebound programs.  Owner Butch Irwin has developed an excellent working relationship with the local facilities and can help veterans determine their eligibility for a benefit they have earned.  Depending on your eligibility – in-home care can be provided at no cost to you.

About Our In-Home Care for Veterans in the Monroe Area

Our home care agency has dedicated professionals who are experienced in all facets of in-home care and working with veterans.  Butch’s strong ties to the community, contacts at the local VA facilities, his understanding of the process at the VA, and our experience makes our agency a valuable resource when determining Aid & Attendance eligibility.  If Butch doesn’t know the answer to an eligibility question, he knows who does!

All of this combined allows us to provide exceptional in-home care service and make sure our clients can access the different benefit programs available to them.

What You Need to Know About the VA Aid and Attendance Program

Veterans may be able to receive a subsidy through the government to cover this home care assistance if they meet specific qualifications. We provide you with the information you need to avoid potential pension claim delays. Once you become an approved participant in a Veteran's Affairs program, Comfort Keepers will provide the quality home and companionship care that you deserve. Veteran care programs for which you may qualify include:

  • Veteran’s Aid and Attendance Benefit Program
  • Homemaker/Home Health Aide Program

Who Qualifies?

If you or your spouse served ninety consecutive days of active military duty – with at least one of those days during a U.S. declared war – you may qualify or be partially qualified. Other qualifications include specific financial criteria and a documented physical need for in-home care.  (Hint: Remember the three M’s - Military, Money, and Medical)

To begin the Veterans Care application process, you will need:

  • Original discharge certificate
  • Marriage certificate (divorce papers from any prior marriages, if applicable)
  • Death certificate of veteran (if applicable)
  • Social Security numbers for the veteran and spouse
