Kathy Housey, a certified "Train the Brain," instructor has a four part series discussing the latest finding on aging brain, The first lecture in the series will dispel past theories that we are genetically predisposed to cognitive decline and even Alzheimer's disease. Three strategies for optimum brain health are revealed, which form the basis of subsequent lectures. In the second lecture, Kathy Housey presents the exciting and vital connection between exercise and increased brain capacity. The old adage "use it or lose it," is never more valid as related to senior brain health. Kathy discusses not only the latest findings, but offers exercise for different ability levels and discusses aspects of balance drills alongside aerobic exercise. The third lectures discuss the important connections between what you put in your body and how it affects cognitive functioning. Simple dietary changes can make you look and feel better while offering important brain protection. "Leaky gut syndrome," and the effects of too much sugar are discussed and important food strategies are offered. Lastly, the fourth lecture will reveal the importance and lasting effects both relaxation and sleep have on achieving and maintaining brain health. Actual measurable results and brain growth can be achieved by taking out a few minutes each day using techniques Kathy Housey offers during this session.
