What’s the difference between home health care and in-home care?

Home health care is in-home care that is provided by a certified nurse. This type of care may include physical therapy, nursing care, or recovery care. Home care is a general term for care that is provided to a client in their own home. Home care can be non-medical or medical and may include personal care services, companionship, and more.

What senior care services do you offer?

At Comfort Keepers Gainesville, we offer the following services:

  • Home Care
  • 24-Hour Home Care
  • In-Home Companionship
  • Personal Care Services
  • Transportation Services
  • Elderly Nutrition
  • Respite Care
  • Transitional Care
  • End of Life Care
  • Dementia Care
  • Alzheimer’s Care
  • Interactive Caregiving™

How do you select your in home caregivers?

We carefully screen potential in home caregivers and complete extensive background checks, reference checks, and more. We only hire caregivers who are experienced and passionate about helping others. Our caregivers are also trained and insured for your benefit.

How much does home care cost?

Your costs will depend on the type of care you choose and the schedule that fits your needs. We can arrange visits as brief as a single hour, or as long as needed, including continuous 24-hour care. We are happy to talk with you about costs once we understand your specific situation and requirements.

When are your services available?

Our home care services are available whenever you need them: 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and 365 days per year. We can provide care for just a few hours each week, or around-the-clock care every day. We’ll customize a care plan based on your schedule and needs.

Do you provide personalized care plans for each client?

Yes! During an in-home consultation, we’ll meet with you and your family to discuss your specific care needs and preferences. We’ll work with you to develop the right plan, schedule, and care features based on your needs. We will also try to match you with in home caregivers that fit you best.

Will my loved one have the same caregiver all the time?

We always strive for as much continuity in your schedule as possible.  In some cases, our clients do have the same caregiver on an ongoing basis.  In other cases, such as with a 100-hour per week schedule, it’s impossible to make that happen.  We generally believe that for any schedule it’s a good practice to have two Comfort Keepers who understand your needs and routine—so that if your regular caregiver can’t be there we have a backup who knows you and can jump in with minimal disruption.  There are other factors that can come into play such as your location, time of day, day of week, and if your schedule varies from week to week.  You can rest assured that our goal is to have as much continuity in your caregiver or caregivers as is possible.

What would happen if their caregiver is sick or is on vacation?

If one of our in home caregivers cannot make it to work on a particular occasion, you will hear from our client care coordinator ahead of time. We will arrange for a temporary caregiver to fill in, who will be aware of your care plan and can provide the same great care.
