Frequently Asked Questions About At-Home Elder Care Services
What’s the difference between home health care and in-home care?
In-home care is provided by a licensed nurse in the form of home health care. Physical therapy, nursing care, and other forms of recovery care are all examples of this sort of treatment. There are many different types of at-home elder care services, but the most common type is in-home care. Personal care, companionship, and other forms of non-medical home care are all examples of non-medical home care.

How do you select your caregivers?
As part of our screening process, potential caregivers undergo comprehensive background checks as well as personal references. We exclusively work with experienced caregivers who have a strong desire to help others. As an added benefit to you, all of our caregivers are certified and insured.
How much does home care cost?
Find out more about our prices for at-home elder care services by contacting us. How much treatment you need, how often you need it, and whether or not you're insured by Medicare, Medicaid, or another insurance plan will all influence your expenditures.
When are your services available?
Our home care services are accessible around the clock, 365 days a year, every day of the year. As little as a few hours a week or as much as 24-hour care is available. Based on your schedule and requirements, we'll create a care strategy just for you -- no matter where you live, and the surrounding area.
What is interactive caregiving, and why is it important?
Interactive Caregiving™ is at the heart of what we do at Comfort Keepers of Alpharetta. It’s our unique approach that goes beyond completing tasks—it’s about engaging the mind, body, and spirit. Rather than doing everything for our clients, we do things with them, encouraging participation in daily routines, conversations, hobbies, and gentle physical activities. This promotes independence, boosts emotional well-being, and enhances their quality of life. Seniors feel more connected, capable, and respected, and that’s what truly makes care meaningful.
What measures do Comfort Keepers take to create caregiver compatibility?
We know how important it is to feel comfortable and connected with the person providing care. That’s why we take time to carefully match each of our clients with a caregiver who aligns with their personality, needs, and preferences.
At Comfort Keepers, we consider communication style, interests, cultural background, and even hobbies when making caregiver placements. If for any reason the match doesn’t feel quite right, we’re always happy to make adjustments. Our goal is to create genuine, lasting relationships that bring comfort and trust to every visit.
Can Comfort Keepers support seniors who prefer to maintain their cultural or spiritual practices at home?
Absolutely. We deeply respect and support each client’s cultural traditions and spiritual values. At Comfort Keepers of Alpharetta, we customize care to honor your loved one’s beliefs and daily practices—whether that means preparing culturally specific meals, incorporating spiritual routines, or observing important holidays and rituals. Our caregivers are trained to provide care with sensitivity and respect, helping your loved one feel truly seen, understood, and supported in their own home.
Do you provide personalized care plans for each client?
Absolutely. An in-home consultation is a chance for us to get to know you and your loved ones better and learn more about your individual care needs and preferences. When it comes to providing at-home elder care services, we'll work with you to find the best solution for your situation.
Will my loved one have the same caregiver all the time?
We will carefully select a caregiver for each client after discussing their individual needs and preferences. Then, we’ll select a caregiver who can meet those needs and more. If the caregiver is a match for the client, they will remain with that client.
What would happen if their caregiver is sick or is on vacation?
If a caregiver cannot make it to work on a particular occasion, you will hear from our client care coordinator ahead of time. We will arrange for a temporary caregiver to fill in, who will be aware of your care plan and can provide the same great care.
