Personalized In-Home Care
Bathing, Grooming, and Hygiene
Comfort Keepers® professionals aid senior clients in feeling good about their overall appearance through bathing, grooming, and hygiene help. Bathing not only cleanses the skin, but it also refreshes the spirit, provides relaxation, and stimulates circulation. Our professional health aids at Comfort Keepers are trained to minimize any embarrassment or worry.
Mobility supports seniors in maintaining active lifestyles for as long as possible when considering their ages, abilities, and overall health. There are many physical health benefits of staying mobile, including lowering blood pressure, improving digestion and sleep, increasing energy and stamina, and strengthening the heart. For example, Comfort Keepers' health aids can accompany clients on short walks or provide reassurance and daily reminders to complete recommended exercises and movements.
Transferring and Positioning
Professionals at Comfort Keepers are trained to move clients in suitable postures and positions in order to promote health and well-being. Correct transferring and positioning into beds and chairs eliminates pressure areas on the skin, reduces weakening and stiffening of muscles, and increases proper breathing, digestion, and elimination.
Toileting and Incontinence Care
Comfort Keepers home health aides work to encourage the client’s dignity and self-esteem as they assist with daily living activities. Through this caring approach, Comfort Keepers help lessen the worry clients may feel associated with incontinence and the basic need for toileting help.
Feeding and Special Diet
Some clients need assistance with feeding themselves, and the loss of independent eating can be difficult to accept. Comfort Keepers understands this worry and are particularly sensitive, making the extra effort that can turn mealtime into a more enjoyable social time. Comfort Keepers will also help guarantee that their clients stay on prescribed diets to prevent or control a wide variety of health conditions.
Conversation and Companionship
Our Comfort Keepers provide clients with companion care, for instance through a simple conversation or sharing a meal. Companionship care is proven to enhance seniors’ health, happiness, and quality of life which is the foundation of our in-home care.
Many seniors do not have the ability to shop for groceries or make a well-balanced meal. Comfort Keepers can prepare hot, delicious, nutritious meals based on their clients’ preferences to help them get the proper nutrition they need. Clients may help with meal preparation as their abilities permit.
Our Comfort Keepers typically do their client's laundry at their clients’ homes or at a laundry facility. They will wash, dry, fold, iron, and put clothing away. Comfort Keepers professionals work to ensure that our client’s laundry is done according to their liking.
Our light housekeeping services cover most domestic tasks. Often seniors are able and want to join their caregivers in housework, which can help them feel useful and needed. These tasks include vacuuming, dusting, sweeping and mopping floors, and cleaning bathrooms and kitchens. Please be advised that Comfort Keepers do not provide outdoor cleaning or maintenance services.
Comfort Keepers will shop for groceries at the stores their clients prefer and run errands such as picking up prescriptions or going to the post office. Clients may choose to stay home or come along and help with shopping and errands as an excellent way to stay active and engaged. Comfort Keepers will use any coupons provided.
Our Comfort Keepers can provide incidental transportation for clients, allowing them the freedom to go shopping and attend other activities or get to medical appointments, the barbershop or beauty salon, and other places the senior chooses. Getting a senior out and about is good for the senior’s mind, body, and spirit.
Although Comfort Keepers are not permitted to administer medication, they can help ensure that clients take their own medicine as prescribed. Our Comfort Keepers can assist with opening containers, reading labels, and prompting their clients when it is time to take the next dose of medication.
24-Hour Home Care
Depending on the client’s needs, Comfort Keepers can provide in-home care for a few hours a week or 24/7 full-time, in-home care. Through our 24 hour home care service, a team of Comfort Keepers coordinates caregiving responsibilities in shifts. This allows clients and their families to have peace of mind and be at ease.
