Local Comfort Keepers® Office Collects Over 6,000 Pounds of Food and Donates $3,000 to Local Foodbanks

Area seniors received a sizable blessing to fight hunger thanks to the caring staff of their local Comfort Keepers®.  David Hellyer and his caregivers hosted a fall food drive last September with the goal of collecting 3,000 pounds of food.

Using a combination of local news, social media and a host of donation locations to get the word out, this Comfort Keepers franchise more than doubled their goal, donating 6,000 pounds of food to 20 different food banks. And the donations were so plentiful that the drop-off dates had to be extended until the end of October!

Congratulations to David and the entire staff of the Comfort Keepers in State College and Clearfield. In addition, their Facebook page offered a Comfort Keepers cash donation of $5 for every like they received and asked the community to get involved and vote on needy foodbanks to receive the cash donations.  This local Comfort Keepers donated an additional $3,000 from the 600 likes they received!
