Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have questions about home health care? Our care agencies can help.

It can be challenging to understand the types of in-home care services we offer, and many other associated issues. Aides from our in-home care agencies answered some of the most commonly asked questions below to give you some clarity.

What’s the difference between home health care and in-home care?

Home health care is in-home care that is provided by a certified nurse. This type of care may include physical therapy, nursing care, or recovery care. Home care is a general term for care that is provided to a client in their own home. Home care can be non-medical or medical and may include personal care services, companionship, and more.

How do you select your caregivers?

We carefully screen each potential caregiver and complete extensive background checks, reference checks, and more. We only hire caregivers who are experienced and passionate about helping others. Our caregivers are also trained and insured for your benefit.

How much does home care cost?

Contact us if you would like to learn more about our home care pricing. Your costs will depend on the type of care you choose, how often you’ll need care, and what type of coverage you have.

When are your services available?

Our home care services are available whenever you need them: 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and 365 days per year. We can provide care for just a few hours each week or around-the-clock every day. We’ll customize a care plan based on your schedule and needs.

Do you provide personalized care plans for each client?

Yes! During an in-home consultation, we’ll meet with you and your family to discuss your specific care needs and preferences. We’ll work with you to develop the right plan, schedule, and care features based on your needs.

Will my loved one have the same caregiver all the time?

We will carefully select a caregiver for each client after discussing their individual needs and preferences. Then, we’ll select a caregiver who can meet those needs and more. If the caregiver is a match for the client, they will remain with that client.

What would happen if their caregiver is sick or is on vacation?

If a caregiver cannot make it to work on a particular occasion, you will hear from our client care coordinator ahead of time. We will arrange for a temporary caregiver to fill in, who will be aware of your care plan and can provide the same great care.

How does Comfort Keepers Perrysburg support clients in maintaining digital literacy and safely using technology to stay connected?

We believe that staying socially and emotionally connected is essential to overall well-being. Our caregivers offer gentle, one-on-one support to help clients become more comfortable with modern technology. Whether it’s learning to video call with family, safely browsing the internet, or using apps that bring joy and mental stimulation. With patience and encouragement, we help clients navigate devices like smartphones, tablets, or computers so they can remain engaged and in touch with loved ones near and far.

In what ways do caregivers encourage clients to participate in local volunteer opportunities or community service?

Giving back to the community can bring a renewed sense of purpose. Our caregivers take the time to learn about each client’s interests and values, then seek out opportunities for meaningful involvement—like preparing items for local shelters, writing letters to service members, or participating in neighborhood drives. When possible, we provide safe, reliable companionship and transportation, empowering clients to stay active and feel a valuable connection to the wider community.

How does Comfort Keepers address unique nutritional needs related to cultural or personal dietary preferences?

We honor the individuality of every client, including their cultural backgrounds, traditions, and personal dietary choices. Caregivers work closely with clients and their families to understand preferred meals, ingredients, and routines. Whether it’s preparing familiar comfort foods, assisting with grocery lists, or offering gentle reminders during mealtimes, we ensure nutrition remains enjoyable, respectful, and supportive of each client’s lifestyle.
