Learn more about our home care solutions for seniors in Sacramento, CA

What is home care and how is it different from home healthcare?

Usually, when someone mentions home care, they are referring to non-medical care, while home healthcare is a term used to describe skilled nursing care.

What services does Comfort Keepers offer?

Comfort Keepers provides companionship care as well as personal care services. Companionship care includes assistance with meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, grocery shopping/errands, incidental transportation, and more. On the other hand, personal care includes bathing, grooming, toileting/incontinence, and feeding/special diet assistance.  Some of our offices also provide specialized care such as Dementia/Alzheimer’s care.

How do you select your caregivers?

All of our caregivers have been carefully screened before we hired them. Each of our care providers had to undergo a rigorous personal and professional reference check. Also, all of our caregivers are bonded and insured.

How much does care cost?

Please contact your local office to learn about price rates for our home care solutions in your area.

Do you work on holidays and weekends?

We are there for you whenever you need us. Our home care services are available 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Can you provide home care solutions on short notice?

Yes, we are able to provide care services on an as-needed basis.

Do you deliver care to seniors in nursing homes or assisted living communities?

Yes, our caregivers can provide care and support to seniors who live in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Is there a plan of care for each client?

We are proud to offer personalized senior care plans to each of our clients. We will create an individualized care plan for your loved one based on their needs, preferences, abilities, and limitations. This Plan of Care will be reviewed every six months so we can be sure that our client is completely satisfied with the level of care they are receiving. When needed, reviews can be more frequent.

Will my parent have the same Comfort Keeper all the time?

Based on your loved one’s care needs, preferences, and personality we will select the best fit for your parent. In case their caregiver is sick or on vacation, our care coordinator will arrange another senior care provider to ensure there is no interruption to your loved one’s care.

What are ADLs and IADLs?

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) are basic everyday tasks that are necessary for normal, daily functioning. These include bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, mobility, and toileting. On the other hand, Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) are less basic tasks that are still important for ensuring one’s quality of life such as shopping, paying bills, and household chores.
