Trusted In-Home Senior Care Serving Sacramento

Comfort Keepers In-Home Care of Sacramento Metro.

How We Care for Seniors in Sacramento and the Surrounding Areas of California

Our caregivers go above and beyond when providing care for seniors in Sacramento, CA

It comes down to two things: trust and experience.  Our clients trust us because we've been providing unparalleled in home care services throughout the Sacramento metro area since 2002.  In that time, we've cared for thousands of seniors, and we've provided their families with peace of mind to know that their loved ones are being cared for with dignity and respect within their own homes. That experience gives us the knowledge to create a plan of care for your senior that's tailored to the individual, and one which evolves over time to meet the changing condition of the senior.  Comfort Keepers is licensed, bonded, and insured.  Our Home Care Organization (HCO) number is 344700017.

What type of caregivers do you hire?

We believe your family deserves nothing but the best from Comfort Keepers.  When you trust us to provide care for seniors, you're trusting us to make sure the right individual enters your home.  It all starts with our training and development program, which is administered locally at our Citrus Heights headquarters, where we only accept less than 1 out of every 10 individuals who apply for a caregiver position with us.

We perform a comprehensive telephone interview with the applicant and then invite the successful candidates to our office for a face to face interview. For those that pass our rigorous standards, we bring them to a company orientation in Citrus Heights, which gives us another chance to interview and assess the candidate, this time in a group setting. From there, we call past employers to verify employment experience, and we administer a thorough third-party criminal and DMV background check. We also ensure that the caregiver is registered with the State of California to provide senior services as a Home Care Aide (HCA).  When the background checks come back complete, and when the HCA registration is complete, the caregiver comes back one more time for group training on company policies, safety training, Alzheimer's training, and general client service training. It is during this training that we emphasize how to care for clients, how to follow the plan of care, and to always remember that we will treat our clients with dignity and respect.

Another point of differentiation between Comfort Keepers and some other agencies is that Comfort Keepers hires its caregivers as employees, and never as independent contractors. This is an extremely important distinction that you should look out for when selecting an agency, because Comfort Keepers' approach offers you the ultimate peace of mind and protection.  People don't realize the potentially huge liabilities and costs they take on with people in their homes who are not direct employees of the company.  Comfort Keepers bonds, insures, and providers workers' compensation for our caregivers.  We take care of payroll taxes so that you don't inadvertently become the caregiver's employer.  In short, we eliminate the worry and the potential legal liability that arises when you bring a caregiver into your home.

When our caregiver is about to start a new assignment, he or she is accompanied to the client's home by one of our Client Service Directors.  At that meeting, the Client Service Director formally introduces the caregiver to client and any extended family or friends, and goes over the expectations for that shift and all future shifts.  After that first shift is over, either the Client Care Director or our Scheduling department calls the caregiver to follow up on the shift details, just to make sure all went smoothly.

As you can see, there are many layers of training, management, coaching, and developing that go into providing a caregiver to your home. To learn even more about our home care for seniors please call us anytime at (916) 260-0654.
