Comfort Keepers Supports Feed Seniors Now™ Food Drive in Lubbock, TX
Comfort Keepers is proud to announce that, with the help and support of the Lubbock community, 13,879 lbs of food were donated and $15, 364 was raised to support local seniors in need.
We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Lubbock community who came together to help Comfort Keepers, and our partners Lubbock Meals on Wheels, collect 13,879 pounds of food through our Feed Seniors Now™ food drive for local seniors in need during the month of September. In addition to 13,000+ lbs. of food, our generous community raised $15,364 to support our senior neighbors in need.
“We asked the community to help make food donations to help local seniors and raise awareness of the growing epidemic of senior hunger and malnutrition, which impacts many older adults in our area who are trying to remain healthy and independent, and they came through with open arms,” said Lisa Carson, Owner of Comfort Keepers Lubbock TX. “It is obvious the people of Lubbock care tremendously about helping our beloved neighboring elders, and with their support, we will be able to help our aging neighbors live healthy, independent lives by getting them the food and nutrition they need.”
“There are many factors involved in malnutrition, and hunger is just one of those,” said Carson. “We hope this campaign helped people to understand the depth and seriousness of the senior hunger and malnutrition problem among seniors and how it impacts families beyond just food security and availability by providing diet and nutrition information, encouragement and necessities.”
