Brookhaven, Pennsylvania, located in Delaware County, is located roughly 15 miles southwest of Philadelphia. The town was originally given to William Penn in the year 1681 as part of a land grant by King Charles II of England. The Borough of Brookhaven was officially incorporated in 1945, at a time when the borough only had 672 people and 150 homes. The town has grown rapidly since then, and according to the United States Census Bureau, Brookhaven was home to 8,006 residents as part of the 2010 census.
