Comfort Keepers In-Home Care in Denver, Colorado.

How to Get Started with Companion Care or Personal Care in South Denver, CO

Learn more about getting in home companion care or personal care for your loved one in South Denver, Aurora, Littleton, Greenwood Village, or the surrounding area

At Comfort Keepers, we have been helping seniors maintain their independence for over two decades. If you have spoken to your loved one and have decided they should receive personal care and companion care services from us, you will not be disappointed, and your loved one will be all the better for it.

The next step is to schedule a home visit and in-house assessment with our senior care professionals. This visit is completely free and is an incredible opportunity to take some time to ask any questions you or your loved one may have about the nature of non-medical personal care and companion care services. This is also a chance to help your loved one feel that much better about your decision. Speak with other family members and see if they can participate in the conversation. The more support your loved one receives during this time, the better.

Some of the topics discussed during this visit will include questions about your parent’s living situation and health conditions they may have, but also, we like to find out as much as possible about their likes and dislikes and how they would like to lead their lives in the future. Family members are an invaluable asset here, as they can share things your parent may not think are relevant or may be too embarrassed to share. Listening and sharing is incredibly important during this process.

After we have gathered as much information as possible about your parent, we will proceed with building a non-medical senior care plan for them. This will include a combination of personal care and companion care services, to help them stay safe, comfortable and engaged in their own home. We will most likely make recommendations about adjustments to be made to your loved one’s home to make it safer for them. We most often refer to this as fall proofing a home and it includes changes like installing handrails and easily accessible bathtubs.

We will also match your loved one with a professional caregiver and get started helping them live their best life.
