Interactive Caregiving® is a Unique Part of Comfort Keepers® Senior Care Services
Comfort Keepers offers many senior care services, but one of their unique programs is Interactive Caregiving®. The service focuses on community involvement and engaging the senior in both a physical and mental way.
Comfort Keepers knows that every situation, and every senior, is different and requires a different care program. By utilizing Interactive Caregiving®, it is another way to customize and tailor the senior care services to fit that individual.
As seniors age, it is often normal for them to become less active, feel lonely and begin losing their sense of self. Comfort Keepers knows that the mind-body connection is critical to their overall well-being and quality of life. With the Interactive Caregiving® program, Comfort Keepers, the friendly and professional caregivers, create and participate in a variety of activities with the senior in order to help them regain or enhance their independence.
Some examples of activities include:
- Doing puzzles
- Playing games
- Helping the senior cook healthy and nutritious meals
- Eating meals with the senior
- Going for walks in the neighborhood or local park
- Taking an exercise class with the senior
- Sitting with the senior and reminiscing over old photos
Comfort Keepers strives to make a positive impact and difference in the lives of each senior. It has been shown that physical activity will help lower the risk of falls, mental activity will help keep the senior's mind sharp while reducing their risk of dementia and eating a healthy diet will provide them with more energy and lower their risk of illness. So doing puzzles, being active and helping seniors learn how to prepare healthy meals as well as reminding them to eat, are all senior care services that will help them continue to have a zest for life.
It is not always easy to take care of an elderly loved-one. Comfort Keepers can help give the family peace of mind knowing that their loved-one is cared for properly, as they live safe and secure in the comfort of their own homes. Senior care services increase the independence, feelings of self-worth and optimism of each senior they work with.
