Paoli In-Home Care Services

Located on Philadelphia’s Main Line, Paoli, Pennsylvania is a census-designated place located in Chester County. Paoli is situated in two separate townships: Tredyffrin and Willistown. As of the 2010 census, Paoli had a total population of 5,575. Of that total, 18.7% of the population was over the age of 65 and that number will continue to increase as time goes on.

Dating back many decades, Paoli was on the western end of Pennsylvania Railroad commuter trains that came from Philadelphia to the Main Line. The “Paoli Local” quickly became an iconic train in the suburbs. Today, Amtrak serves the area along with SEPTA through the Paoli/Thorndale line. A trip from Paoli to Center City, Philadelphia takes about 45 minutes, making it easy to access the city from the suburbs without the hassle of driving.

History

The town of Paoli was created by a man named Joshua Evans who owned an inn in 1769. His father bought 500 acres from William Penn in 1719 near the current site of the local Paoli Post Office and Evans named the inn after General Pasquale Paoli. The inn was successful due to its location right near Philadelphia and the Lancaster Turnpike, and the town was eventually named Paoli after that inn.

Paoli also has historical significance for American wars. During the American Revolutionary War in 1777, nearly 5,000 British soldiers made a surprise attack on a group of sleeping Patriot troops in what would become known as the Paoli Massacre. Before the massacre was over, nearly 200 Americans were killed or wounded. This battle became a rallying cry for the American soldiers against the British for the rest of the Revolutionary War.

Due to this, we have an interactive caregiving approach that helps keep you moving. With this, our caregivers are able to provide your senior with a healthy life while taking advantage of everything that Paoli has to offer.
