Unlike other Delaware County communities, East Lansdowne was bought as one farm intended for residential development, rather than several farms pieced together. In the early 1900s, the land was owned by Dr. George Smith, a major player in the region’s growth. He was a senator, judge, originator of the public school system, superintendent, president of the school board, on the Board of Directors for the West Chester and Philadelphia Railroad, and founder of the Delaware County Institute of Science. In addition to this, he wrote a book on the history of Delaware County.

Who We Are, and How We Can Help
It can be a struggle to find the right healthcare. In fact, finding care that doesn’t inhibit one’s freedom can seem nearly impossible. Nursing homes and retirement communities don’t have the comfort and familiarity of your own home or the charm of your town. That’s where we, Comfort Keepers, come in. We are dedicated to providing the care you need in your home.
Even in familiar and comfortable surroundings, it can be challenging to remain an active participant in your community. Engaging with your community is a crucial part of maintaining one’s mental and physical health.
In response, we offer an interactive caregiving approach that allows you to remain active in your town. Whether it’s by catching a movie or taking a walk in the park, we ensure that you are making the most of each day.
