When looking for senior care for your loved one, safety and comfort is of utmost importance. Ideally, you’ll be able to have full trust in your caregiver who will be spending time with your loved one. Our compassionate caregivers at Comfort Keepers are honored to be caring for your loved one. In fact, they care for their clients the way they would care for someone in their own family.
Our caregivers - also known as Comfort Keepers - are chosen carefully and go through an intensive training process to ensure that they provide the best senior care possible. We want to alleviate some of the stress that falls onto family members when a loved one begins to require extra care.
What does Comfort Keeper’s Senior Care Look Like?
We know how tough - and sometimes scary - it can be to choose the right caregiver. You may be worried about whether they will be able to provide the right type of care for your loved one, or you might be concerned about the process itself.
Here at Comfort Keepers, we offer a complimentary in-home assessment to see if our services are a match for you. We provide a wide range of care, from assistance or companionship once a week to 24/7 and specialized dementia care. Plus, we know that each individual desires something different out of the care that they receive. For example, some seniors may want to keep as much of their independence as possible; and may even be a bit resistant to having a caregiver. Others may be more than happy to have someone do the housework that they no longer have the energy to do. Either way, it’s important that we get to sit down with your senior – and your family - in order to determine what level of care is requested and which of our care services will benefit your loved one the most. Some of the senior care services that we provide include:
- Companion care
- Grocery shopping and meal planning
- Transportation services
- Incontinence care
- Respite care
- Medication management
We also like to meet you and your loved one in person so that we can get a feel for their personality. That way, we can match them with a caregiver that they will get along with and feel most comfortable with. We practice Interactive Caregiving at Comfort Keepers, which means that we aim to encourage your senior to continue to be active in their everyday activities. Our caregivers often become close with their care recipient, and activities like outings and games can strengthen that companionship. Plus, research has shown that when a senior is able to be active in their life, they are much happier - and even healthier.
Our caregivers cater to your loved one’s likes and dislikes; we won’t make them go to a social event they aren’t interested in. But we will encourage them to find the things that they do enjoy, and we will assist them in making that happen.
