Comfort Keepers^® offers seniors and their families flexibility – allowing families to be involved in their loved one’s day-to-day care as much or as little as they wish or are able to. In all cases, we maintain excellent communication to keep families in the know about their loved one’s home care and status.

Offering a free in-home assessment, we’ll help you determine whether Comfort Keepers is right for you and your family. With the help of this assessment, we’ll develop a customized senior care plan to meet to your and your family’s specific needs.

This in-home assessment also helps us match your loved one with the most appropriate Comfort Keeper, based on interests, personality and elder care needs. The assessment provides detailed information to ensure that our Comfort Keeper will be prepared and knowledgeable about your loved one right from the start.

On a regular basis we review each client’s at-home care plan and work with the family and client to revise it as needed.

To provide clients and their families a complete senior care solution, Comfort Keepers of Raleigh partners with a network of local health and senior care organizations, such as home health care agencies, adult day care, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, and hospice. We also work with rehabilitation facilities to help smooth patients’ return home from an illness or injury.

Interactive Caregiving™

Another distinctive difference you’ll find with Comfort Keepers is Interactive Caregiving™.  It’s a unique style of in-home care in which our Comfort Keepers engage seniors in a wide variety of activities that enrich their lives physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. They intersperse these activities in their daily schedule of homemaking and personal care services, heightening the seniors’ level of independence and quality of life.

Comfort Keepers customize Interactive Caregiving™ activities to match each client’s interests and abilities. These may include walks in the neighborhood, hobbies, puzzles, trips to church and community activities, visits with friends, cooking a favorite recipe, or reminiscing and conversing. Studies show that this type of elder care positively affects seniors’ physical and mental health and enhances their independence and quality of life.

Our Senior Care Services

Comfort Keepers of Raleigh is licensed to provide in home care by the state of North Carolina and offers a wide range of services to help seniors continue enjoying quality, independent living at home:

• Companionship Care—includes companionship and conversation, medication reminders, healthy meal preparation, light housekeeping and laundry, transportation and errands, and standby assistance with grooming and dressing.  
• Personal Care— includes all Companion Cares services and in addition hands-on assistance with bathing or showering, hair and skin care, shaving, mobility, toileting and incontinence, feeding, and transferring and ambulation.
• Comfort Keepers’ SafetyChoice™—technology solutions that are monitored by professionals at SafetyChoice’s monitoring center. These devices help seniors stay safe at home when family caregivers or Comfort Keepers are not present. SafetyChoice devices include a Personal Emergency Response System (PERS), which allows seniors to call for help 24 hours a day with the touch of a button; a fall detector, which clips to a client’s clothing; and a Medication Management System that reminds seniors to take their medications, dispenses the drugs as prescribed and provides alerts when a dose is missed.
• Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care provided by Comfort Keepers who are specially trained and experienced in meeting the special needs of persons diagnosed with dementia. Care is designed to improve quality of life.
• Post-Hospital Rehabilitation Care and Support to help clients as they recover at home from injury, illness or surgery.
• Hospice Care—Our Comfort Keepers provide non-medical in-home care services to complement and coordinate the care of a hospice agency.
• Stroke Recovery to assist seniors with the activities of daily living as they regain strength and function.
