Comfort Keepers® Provides Full-Time In-Home Assistance

As senior loved ones age, there are many situations in which full-time in-home assistance is both helpful and necessary. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, over the past century, the population of people over the age of 65 has tripled. The U.S. Census Bureau also indicates that, as of 2009, over twenty-five percent of people over the age of 65 live alone. These figures indicate that while many senior citizens prefer to live at home rather than in a nursing home or other assisted living facility, they still have needs that must be fulfilled by alternative means.

Comfort Keepers® is an in-home assistance company that provides these alternative solutions by allowing seniors to remain in their homes while receiving the aid and assistance they need to lead safe and comfortable lives. Often times, seniors may only need intermittent or part-time care. Other times, full-time care and assistance is required.

Though a vast number of full-time care givers providing in-home assistance are family members, there are certain situations in which this is not a viable option. Seniors may not have any living family members who are capable of delivering full-time care, and many of those who are fortunate to have living relatives are often times located at distances that are too far to provide immediate, consistent care.

Comfort Keepers in-home assistance providers are available on a part-time as well as a full-time and live-in basis. Live-in situations can vary, from seniors with chronic illnesses to diseases affecting their mental states such as Alzheimer's or dementia. In these situations, full-time care is necessary, as someone must be available at all times to ensure that these seniors do not wander, fall, or otherwise injure himself or herself and cannot receive immediate care. Comfort Keepers care providers will live with the senior and work with the senior's family to determine the types of in-home assistance that will be provided, from maintaining a constant and consistent presence in the home to housekeeping duties, shopping duties and much more.

No matter what the situation, Comfort Keepers provides the in-home assistance and peace of mind that comes from knowing that seniors are cared for at all times.
