Elderly Home Care in Florence, SC
Comfort Keepers sets new standards of excellence in senior in-home care services. As we promote the quality of life and independence of seniors who wish to continue living in their own homes, we distinguish ourselves from other senior care providers in two significant ways:
- Our compassionate caregivers, Comfort Keepers, consider caregiving to be much more than a job. To them, caregiving is their calling; they have a natural gift for it.
- Interactive Caregiving™, which is our special brand of caregiving, advances the quality of life of seniors as it engages them physically, mentally, emotionally and socially.
Caregivers Who Genuinely Care
We take special care in selecting Comfort Keepers. Our thorough screening process enables us to narrow the field of candidates to those who have the genuine desire to help seniors live happily and safely in the comfort of their own homes. The caregivers we hire are people we would, without hesitation, choose to care for our own parents.
Our screening process includes background checks and personality tests to make certain that candidates possess the necessary qualities to deliver Comfort Keepers’ distinctive brand of elder caregiving, which enhances seniors’ enjoyment and quality of life.
Once they pass our screening and are hired as Comfort Keepers, the successful candidates go on to complete orientation and the Comfort Keepers training program, which covers everything from how to provide personal care services to meeting the special needs of persons with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Training continues throughout a Comfort Keeper’s service with us to maintain and enhance caregiving skills. After beginning service, Comfort Keepers are tested to make certain they maintain our high standards of in-home senior care.
To further assure the success and effectiveness of our senior caregiving, Comfort Keepers takes great care to match each new client with a Comfort Keeper based on their personalities and interests and the client’s care needs and the Comfort Keeper’s skill sets. A good beginning match leads to a strong, healthful relationship between the Comfort Keeper and senior.
About Interactive Caregiving™
Comfort Keepers takes in-home caregiving to a new level with Interactive Caregiving™. Through Interactive Caregiving™, Comfort Keepers help their clients enjoy life to the fullest while receiving assistance with personal care, housekeeping and companionship.
Comfort Keepers engage with their clients in Interactive Caregiving™ activities the clients enjoy and look forward to. These activities enhance health, well-being and independence as they stimulate seniors physically, mentally, socially and emotionally. Examples of such activities include conversation and reminiscing; preparing and sharing meals; taking walks or dancing; solving puzzles; engaging in hobbies; and going to church and other favorite places.
Partnering with Families
Comfort Keepers partners with families, giving them the freedom to be as involved in their loved one’s care as they desire and are able. For those families who choose to be involved in their loved one’s day-to-day care, we provide local respite care services. These provide family caregivers opportunities to take time off from caregiving—to go on vacation or to just have a few hours away to rest or take care of errands. Comfort Keepers also can provide caregiving while family caregivers are at work.
And we maintain close communication with families, including those who live far away or whose caregiving involvement is limited. We update families on their loved one’s care and changing needs that we observe.
To find out if Comfort Keepers is the solution for you or your loved one, we offer free in-home assessments. From an in-home assessment, we’ll propose a plan of care that can be revised as needs change.
