Support for Every Caregiver — Not Just Those in the PCAFC
The Program of General Caregiver Support Services (PGCSS) provides education, tools, and peer connection to anyone caring for a Veteran — regardless of when the Veteran served or the nature of their condition.
What PGCSS Offers Caregivers
Caregiver education: Online and in-person training covering caregiving skills, safety, managing medications, and avoiding burnout.
Peer support mentoring: Connect with experienced Veteran caregivers through the Building Better Caregivers® workshop and peer mentoring program.
REACH VA Coaching: A structured skills-based coaching program (phone or video) helping caregivers manage stress, improve communication, and find respite.
Caregiver Support Line: 1-855-260-3274 — VA specialists available to answer questions, connect caregivers to services, and provide a listening ear.
How Comfort Keepers Fits In
PGCSS doesn't directly fund in-home care services — but it equips family caregivers with the skills and support they need. Many families combine PGCSS education and coaching with professional home care from Comfort Keepers, so family caregivers can focus on quality time while our team handles personal care, hygiene, and daily routines.
