Paying for Veteran’s Care
Home care is an ideal solution for many veterans in need of assistance. Still, many are worried about the cost of care. What they may not know, however, is that they can receive in home senior care at little to no cost at all. Namely, if a veteran is eligible for Veterans Benefits, they can receive financial aid to cover long-term care.
To be eligible for Veterans Benefits, a veteran has to have the so-called ‘3-Ms,’ which include:
- Military: Veterans or the surviving spouses of veterans who served a minimum of 90 days with at least one day during wartime. The veteran must have been honorably discharged.
- Medical: Veterans who need assistance with daily activities due to a health problem or condition.
- Money: Veterans who need financial assistance to pay for the care they need.
Veterans who served during World War II, Korean Conflict, Vietnam War or Persian Gulf War are eligible to apply for Veterans Benefits.
