For many Seniors, crossing items off of their bucket list has become just a dream. An inability to travel, an illness or perhaps a lack of financial resources may mean that their bucket list items go unfulfilled. Luckily, for 92-year old Betty Taylor, her dream of returning to Bermuda has become somewhat of a reality thanks to Buckets of Love and Comfort Keepers® of Plymouth, NH.
Betty owned a home in Bermuda years ago and loves to talk about her memories from the tropical island. When Betty lost her husband, she moved into a smaller home in New Hampshire. Drastically different weather has caused Betty to dream of the warm breeze of Bermuda.
Betty has had Comfort Keepers in her home since 2006 but she has not been able to get out regularly. Sensing a case of the winter blues, the Comfort Keepers staff of Plymouth decided to bring Bermuda to Betty! Owner, Martha Swats and caregiver, Paula Ellsworth, decorated Betty’s living room in tropical décor, including a large blowup palm tree, grass skirts, leis, and lots of flowers. Tropical music was playing on Valentine’s Day as Betty entered the room to see her very own tropical paradise. Besides the beautiful surroundings, Betty was also greeted with Valentine’s wishes and hugs from her friends!
Buckets of Love was started at the Comfort Keepers in Plymouth,NH. Their goal is to fulfill bucket list wishes of their clients that might need help doing so!
