Dayton region has 20 companies among the nation's fastest-growing

Twenty companies in the Dayton region ranked among the country's fastest-growing private businesses, according to Inc. magazine

Two of those firms made this year's Inc. 500 list: Instant Tax Service of Dayton -- which grew from $1.5 million in revenue in 2005 to more than $27 million in 2008 -- ranked No. 93; and Raven Rock Workwear of Dayton -- which posted $6.8 million in revenue last year, up from $865,000 in 2005 -- ranked No. 369. Eighteen more area companies were on the larger Inc. 5000 list.

The Dayton region had a more than 50 percent increase in the number of companies on the entire list this year. Last year, only 13 companies from the Dayton region made the Inc. 5000. The highest ranked business from Ohio on this year's list was of Columbus at No. 24.

Those local companies on this year's Inc. 5000 list include: One Call Now of Troy (No. 503), Jatrodiesel of Miamisburg (No. 550), Hightowers Petroleum of Franklin (No. 579), Custom Manufacturing Solutions of Xenia (No. 1,986), Alternate Solutions Homecare of Kettering (No. 2,097), Republic Wire of West Chester (No. 2,149), Cornerstone Research Group of Beavercreek (No. 2,340), JangoMail of Bellbrook (No. 2,473), Agil IT of Troy (No. 2,545), Centric Consulting of Kettering (No. 2,745), Morris Bean & Co. of Yellow Springs (No. 2,934), Crown Partners of Centerville (No. 3,187), Elements IV Interiors of Dayton (No. 3,231), R. L. Drake of Franklin (No. 3,610), O'Neil & Associates of Miamisburg (No. 3,643), SoBran of Beavercreek (No. 3,733), Comfort Keepers of Dayton (No. 4,089) and Quality Steel Fabrication of Sidney (No. 4,456).

Several companies posted enough growth to make the top 500 but missed a portion of the magazine's application deadline. Locally, those include of Miamisburg and Ohio Technology Group of Springfield.
