Comfort Keepers Executive Earns Franchise Certification

Director of franchise development is designated CFE

DAYTON, Ohio  (March 11, 2007)-- Jim Brown, director of franchise development for Dayton-based Comfort Keepers Franchising Inc., was recently designated as a Certified Franchise Executive by the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives.

Brown completed a comprehensive course of study on franchise management at the institute, which is the academic arm of the International Franchise Association's Educational Foundation.  IFA is the world's largest trade organization representing the franchising sector.

Prior to joining Comfort Keepers, Brown entered franchising in 1989 as a MotoPhoto single unit operator and quickly became a multi-unit operator growing to four locations. He has received numerous awards including Franchisee of the Year. In addition to owning and operating franchises, he has held the titles of area developer, national sales manager and vice president of franchising.

More than 500 candidates are currently enrolled in the CFE program, which provides candidates with expanded knowledge, industry recognition, peer-level networking and professional standing.

To earn the CFE designation, candidates must complete a rigorous course of study, which includes attending institute-sponsored educational seminars and workshops.  The program is designed for motivated, experienced franchising professionals to enhance their grasp of franchising's fundamentals and complexities.
