Charlotte Jones, RN, MS, BSN, CDP, CADDCT is approved by the National Council of Certified Dementia
Practitioners, LLC. as a certified dementia practitioner (CDP) and certified Alzheimer's disease and dementia care trainer (CADDCT). She created an approved curriculum for Assisted Living Facilities in Level 1 and Level 2 Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. She is an approved DOEA trainer by Florida Elder Affairs for Assisted Living Facilities in Level 1 and Level 2 Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders. She was responsible for the CHAP (Community Health Accreditation Program) accreditation in our Bradenton office.
Charlotte earned her Masters of Science with a concentration in Nursing Education from University of South Florida. As a clinical nurse her greatest passion was educating her patients and their families. As a nurse educator she has the ability to share her knowledge and experience with clients, their families, our staff and caregivers. She is always looking for ways to improve our client's lives as well as those in the community. She is a great believer of having our clients maintain their independence.
Nursing is a second career for Charlotte. Her first seven years after high school were in the Hospitality Industry. Working from the bottom up to front office manager in the hotel business she understands team work. The years of hospitality cemented her focus as a customer service representative. Customer service is her focus first and foremost. She has been responsible for our home health aide orientation, ongoing in-service computer training and yearly in-service. Charlotte is the "glue" that leads our team in day to day operations along with our General Manager. Working daily as a liaison between our clients, their families, our caregivers and office staff to ensure the satisfaction of our clients and staff.
Charlotte earned her Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from Stevenson University (previously known as Villa Julie College) in Stevenson, Maryland. She chose nursing due to her nurturing nature and the varied disciplines in nursing. She began as a Labor and Delivery Nurse shortly after graduation at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Typically specialty areas do not allow new nurses, but Charlotte was able to bring her experience with customer service and juggling "fifty things at once" to their department. Charlotte also worked at Sarasota Memorial Hospital as a Labor and Delivery nurse. From the beginning of life to the end of life she uses Maslow's hierarchy to meet their needs.
She brought her values from “back home" with her. Her motto for hiring field staff is ... if I would not allow them in my home, I won't allow them in yours. She would rather not take a case than lower her standard. Our clients are not shifts or tasks they are people. We focus on the person we are caring for first and foremost.
