When making the decision we ask ourselves, “Is this a person we’d feel comfortable with taking care of one of our loved ones?” If the answer is no, we consider the next candidate.
Once a candidate is selected, they go through an extensive orientations and caregiver training program before we match them with a first client. Furthermore, Comfort Keepers participate in a continuing training program throughout their tenures so as to preserve and build up skills.

Home Care Services at the Trenton, New Jersey Comfort Keepers
As a partner with the senior and his/her family we customize a strategy for in-home care services. This can be a few as four hours a week to full-time, round-the-clock care. We can offer:
- Personal Care: This would include help with feeding and mobility, transfers in and out of bed and chairs, skin care, incontinence and toileting care, and other personal hygiene tasks to help maintain dignity.

Examples include a Medical Management System (MMS) and a Personal Emergency Response System (PERS). The MMS prompts seniors to take prescribed medications. If they miss a dose, the MMS will send an alert. PERS is a simple push-button system allowing seniors to call for help in case of illness or accident. These technology solutions support the well being and security of seniors between Comfort Keeper visits.
- Hospice Support: This kind of care is a complement to hospice care. In-home support services are given to hospice patients so as to create comfort and improve quality of life.
- Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care: These services, provided by specially-trained Comfort Keepers, are meant to improve the well being, life quality, and safety of Alzheimer’s and dementia patients in the comfort of their own homes.
