About Our In-Home Care
When Kevin and Diane Rasmussen discovered Comfort Keepers®, they found an appealing opportunity to go into business for themselves while making a significant difference in the quality of life of seniors and their families. The Rasmussens, owners of the Racine, Wisconsin, Comfort Keepers franchise, considered other in-home care providers. However, they found that Comfort Keepers offered the most effective brand of in-home senior care, which is called Interactive Caregiving™. This style of caregiving actively engages seniors in their own care–physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. Being involved in their own care enhances independence.
The Rasmussens enjoy helping people who are their parents’ age. Knowing firsthand the concerns that families have for aging loved ones, they are tuned into providing the best, most relevant in-home care possible to enrich the lives of seniors.
They enjoy sharing caregiving responsibilities with families, whose days are filled with many other responsibilities, such as work and caring for children. “We are able to provide families a sense of relief that we can be there to provide care when they cannot,” Kevin says.
He adds, “We want families to know that we take great care in selecting only the best caregivers to become Comfort Keepers. They are all people we would feel comfortable with if they were caring for our own loved ones.”
The Team of Racine Comfort Keepers
Our administrative team assures the quality of Comfort Keepers’ in-home care services by recruiting, training and coordinating a team of well-qualified, compassionate caregivers – our Comfort Keepers. We staff our phone lines 24 hours a day, so we are always available to our clients and their families, ready to address their concerns and changing needs. We are also ready to answer prospective clients’ questions about our services, schedule free in-home assessments and help develop a specially tailored plan of care.
Our administrative team includes:
- Owner and Founder Kevin Rasmussen, who oversees the operations of the franchise, assures the quality of the in-home care services provided by the caregivers, or Comfort Keepers. He builds partnerships with other senior and health care providers to offer seniors and their families a complete care solution.
- Our Office Manager serves as scheduler and client care coordinator of the Racine Comfort Keepers office. An office manager will coordinate and supervise all administrative duties for the office. In the role of scheduling coordinator, this person matches care givers and clients according to their qualifications and needs. As client care coordinator, the same person introduces prospective clients and their families to Comfort Keepers and meets periodically with clients to stay up-to-date on their condition and service needs.
- Companion/homemakers attend to clients’ non-medical needs. This includes providing clients social and emotional support to promote their sense of well-being—such as conversing with clients, engaging in activities with them, providing medication reminders, accompanying them on walks and outings around the community, providing light housekeeping and preparing and serving meals.
- Personal care aides assist seniors and other clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transfers, feeding, light housekeeping and medication reminders.
- Live-in care aides are responsible 24 hours a day for client care while living in the client’s home. Their primary responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living. In addition, they may assist with light housekeeping.
