Our Secaucus Comfort Keepers®

Our professional, senior caregivers—we call them Comfort Keepers—are people who have a natural desire to help others.

For us, a caring spirit comes first. In other words, we hire only people we would feel comfortable sending out to care for our own parents.

For this reason, all of our Comfort Keepers must pass a thorough screening process. This includes an initial phone interview, extensive background checks and in-person interviews. The true test is: Would we want this candidate caring for our own family members?

Once hired—and before caring for a single elder care client—every Comfort Keeper completes an extensive orientation that thoroughly prepares them to deliver the Comfort Keepers distinctive brand of in-home caregiving. Each Comfort Keeper receives specialized training to prepare him or her for the specific type of senior care they will be providing. And throughout their service, Comfort Keepers complete continuing training to maintain a high level of senior assistance skills.

Also, our elder caregivers are bonded, insured and covered by Workers' Compensation insurance to protect families and clients—and because they are Comfort Keepers employees, their payroll taxes are taken care of by us.

Comfort Keepers Interactive Caregiving™

Another significant difference you’ll find with Comfort Keepers is our distinctive brand of in-home care, which we call Interactive Caregiving™. Our Comfort Keepers actively involve their clients in their own home care, engaging them in a mix of activities that enrich their lives physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. This enables seniors and other adult clients to attain as high a level of independence and quality of life as possible. The Comfort Keepers intersperse these activities in their daily schedule of homemaking and personal home care services.

Interactive Caregiving™ activities vary to match each client’s interests and abilities. They could include walks in the neighborhood, working on puzzles, favorite pastimes, outings to church and community activities and visits with friends, preparing a favorite recipe, or reminiscing and engaging in conversation. Many research studies have shown that this type of care positively affects seniors’ physical and mental health and enhances their independence and quality of life.

Working as trusted partners with family caregivers, Comfort Keepers provides loved ones with an entire inhome care solution to promote healthy and independent living.
