Interactive Caregiving®: A Better Approach to In-Home Care
Studies show that when seniors are kept engaged socially, mentally, physically and emotionally, they are much more likely to retain higher levels of cognitive function and they stay healthier, which allows them to live independently. This approach to in-home service is what we call Interactive Caregiving®.
The heart of Comfort Keepers® is our Interactive Caregiving®. We believe that people are healthier and happier when they feel connected with others, when they are able to remain active, and when they feel they contribute. Our professional and compassionate Comfort Keepers, our caregivers, strive to provide the highest quality physical care to your elderly loved one, but we view that as just the beginning.
Our caregivers work every day to mentally stimulate each of our clients through actively engaging in everyday activities such as:
- Telling and listening to stories
- Discussing viewpoints on current events or personal interests
- Sharing memories together
- Reading together
- And much more
We believe that this approach to Interactive Caregiving® will help your elderly loved one stay involved and sharp, which helps them keep a positive outlook on life.
Every Comfort Keeper caregiver customizes their care to the abilities, unique interests and personality of each senior client. Interactive Caregiving® may include:
- Neighborhood walks
- Dancing to music
- Completing household chores together
- Working together on puzzles, crafts or hobbies
- Going shopping, to church, or to civic group or senior center activities
Everyday activities are transformed in opportunities for meaningful conversation. This practice of Interactive Caregiving® is proven to contribute to healthier, longer and more purposeful lives of seniors. Our dedicated caregivers will work to enrich and engage the life of your elderly loved one by connecting with them, helping them enjoy themselves and resulting in a much more positive outlook on tomorrow.
