Welcome to Comfort Keepers® of the East Mountains & Valencia County
We help seniors live happy, healthy lives in the comfort of their own homes by providing quality, compassionate care and solutions to preserve independence and contribute to a better life.
Few things are more important than your independence. If you or someone you love is becoming less able to care for themselves, let Comfort Keepers help. We’ve spent over a decade helping older adults live happy, independent lives in their own homes by providing them with companionship, in-home care and safety solutions.
About Us
Welcome! I’m Linda Schaffer, Owner of the local Comfort Keepers office serving the East Mountains, Southeast Heights of Albuquerque and Valencia County. My sister, Julie Yenor is General Manager. As Certified Senior Advisors, we understand the unique needs of seniors and their strong desire to remain independent in their own homes. We share a special passion for the care of others having experienced first-hand the loss of independence due to medical conditions and debilitating chronic illness in our family.
Comfort Keepers is widely recognized as a leading provider of quality in-home care to seniors and other clients who need help with the activities of daily living. Our goal is to enrich the lives of our clients as we enable them to maintain the highest possible level of independent living in their own home for as long as possible.
A thorough in home assessment is conducted to develop a customized care plan. The special people who deliver our unique brand of in-home care, who we call Comfort Keepers, are carefully selected and pass an 11 point screening process including the National Criminal Database Search. Each Comfort Keeper receives a minimum of 40+ hours of training. We believe continuous training is extremely important to deliver the highest level of compassionate and professional care.
Now with more than 610 franchised offices in the United States, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, Comfort Keepers has been named by INC. Magazine as one of the fastest growing franchise systems in the U.S. We were rated a "World Class Franchise" by the Franchise Research Institute in May 2009 and were listed in the "Top 200" list by Franchise Times in Oct 2009.
Our Mission
At Comfort Keepers, we provide our clients with the highest quality of life achievable through personalized planning and interactive caregiving, with our caregivers striving to make a difference in our clients’ lives. We always treat our clients with the utmost respect and dignity as though we were providing care for members of our own family.
Comforting Moments

Seniors May Eat Less, But They Need To Ensure Good Nutrition
As seniors age they typically become less active and their metabolisms slow. As a result, they require fewer calories. But their need for essential, health-promoting vitamins and minerals does not decline. If anything, it increases.

Eat Seasonally for Maximum Nutrition
No matter where we live, we expect to find a cornucopia of fruits and vegetables year-round in supermarket produce sections. But much of it has to travel great distances to get there. And in doing so, it loses freshness, taste and nutrients.
