Your Local Comfort Keepers Owners

Scott Register has twenty-five pus years of operations experience in manufacturing. Lisa Register has fifteen plus years in sales in the transportation industry. But our past work experience is not what drives our passion in this industry. Our real life knowledge of caring for parents with Alzheimer’s and cancer prepared us for this job. My mother passed away in 2003 from a long battle with Alzheimer’s and Lisa’s parents and sister died in 2003 from cancer. With the true life experiences of caring for our parents along with the challenges of raising our own family, we have learned the special necessities it takes  to care for our seniors.

Our “Comfort Keepers”

Caregivers at Comfort Keepers are known as “Comfort Keepers”. Our “Comfort Keepers” are our employees. By making our “Comfort Keepers” our employees we are able to carefully select and train our at home care providers. Indeed, we hire less than 7% of applicants that apply. We do an extensive criminal background check that uses live investigations at court houses verses internet checks. Driving records are checked for safe driving records to ensure the safety of our clients. Our Comfort Keepers location is a Drugs Don’t Work employer and drug test are required on all new employees and at various times during employment. (DDW Emblem)

“Comfort Keepers” go through an intense orientation and training program. This training ensures that the most up to date in home care for seniors is provided. Upon completion of the initial training period our caregivers are trained in the most critical aspect of care – Interactive Care. Interactive Care Giving is what sets Comfort Keepers apart from other in home care services. Interactive Care is a critical part of care, because we recognize that an environment that engages a person mentally, physically and emotional contributes to their overall well being. By teaching our senior care providers to “do with” instead of “doing for” we put into action our Interactive Care way of life. (www.interactivecaregiving.com)

We hold our caregivers to the highest professional standards of home healthcare, but that is not enough to make them “Comfort Keepers”. We look for the “glowing eyes, loving smile and youthful enthusiasm”. Our “Comfort Keepers” are caregivers that we would have placed with our own parents.

Comfort Keepers Customized In Home Care Services

When you call Comfort Keepers, your call will be answered by a trained professional. Upon contacting us, we will come to you and provide a “free” assessment presenting the in home services that we at Comfort Keepers can provide. This assessment will help in the development of an in home care plan for you or your loved ones. The at home care service plan will include input from you, your family, personal and medical advisors.

Our in home care is all about you! Our clients are matched with an in home caregiver that meets the needs of the client. This is done by corresponding the wants and desire of the senior client with the personality and abilities of our Comfort Keeper.

Since in home care is all about you, you set the days and hours of service provided by the senior care provider. We provide a web site that allows the client to check on the day, time and caregiver that will be providing the in home senior care. This information can be made available to other concerned family members at the discretion of the client. Our caregivers care for the elderly parent or friend on a set schedule and are able to keep all involved parties updated on concerns and important changes that we notice from day to day.

As the leader in home care for our seniors, we provide ongoing reassessments for our clients through supervisory visits. These visits are not scheduled and maybe done after hours or on weekends. The visit allows us to confirm that the home care provider is providing the level of care consistent with the Comfort Keepers Standards. This also allows our management team to speak face to face with the client and/or family to ensure the comfort and care expected by the client is being met.

Comfort Keepers South Georgia Services

When caring for an elderly parent or other seniors at home, Comfort Keepers personalized services are the best. A few of the services we provide are:

Interactive Caregiving: Interactive Caregiving (ICG) is at the heart of Comfort Keepers in home caregiving approach.  Our goal is to allow our seniors to live in their own homewith the highest quality of life. Interactive Caregiving allows us to help our client stay mentally, physically and emotional fit by “doing with” instead of “doing for”. Studies have shown that care when delivered interactively can help maintain the client’s mental, physical and emotional well being.

Companion Care:  Companionship Care is more than a sitter. It’s a true friend that cares about the clients well being. They provide serves needed to keep the senior safe and secure in their home. Companionship Care consists of conversation, exercise and recreational activities, light house cleaning, meal preparation, transportation, medication reminders, and relief for the family.

Personal Care:  Personal Care is a higher level of care than Companionship Care and consists of hands-on care. Certified Nursing Assistants or Personal Care Assistants provide Personal Care that includes bathing, grooming, feeding, transferring and hygiene care.

Personal Emergency Response System: Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) is our in home response system that uses the latest technology to summon help in case of an emergency. We use the system in two ways, one is to help a senior who may not be ready for a caregiver but would like some additional security and the second way is to “bridge the gap” between the times that a caregiver is scheduled.
