The Quality of Comfort Keepers Elder Care is Unsurpassed

The quality of our in-home senior care services is superior to that of other providers for two essential reasons:

  • Our unique brand of elder care, Interactive Caregiving™, adds new vivacity to seniors’ emotional, mental, and physical well-being by keeping them engaged in their lives.
  • Comfort Keepers, our dedicated caregivers, provide senior care straight from the heart. Caring permeates their every action.

Authentic Senior Caregivers

Our foremost priority when recruiting new Comfort Keepers is locating people who are truly passionate about helping seniors improve their quality of life and retain their independence.

We are dedicated to locating the finest possible caregivers for our senior care and other clients. Not only do candidates need to pass extensive background checks, but they are also required to pass this essential test: Would we feel at ease if this candidate was caring for one of our parents? Similarly, we value our Comfort Keepers so as not to send them into situations where we wouldn’t send any of our own children.

We directly employ each and every one of our Comfort Keepers; none work as independent contractors. This allows us to assure that our clients are cared for by skilled and compassionate people.

In order to guarantee the success of our clients’ in-home care experience, we strive to create the perfect client to caregiver matches based on the caregiver’s personality, training, skill, and experience, and on a thorough analysis of the client’s needs. For example, some of our Comfort Keepers are experienced and trained to care for seniors with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Furthermore, prior to actually caring for a client, Comfort Keepers are provided with comprehensive training, focused on daily living activities, safety in the home, and Alzheimer’s and dementia care.

Interactive Caregiving

Interactive Caregiving, our unique brand of in-home senior care, was created in response to research proving that elders who are actively engaged in life (emotionally, physically, and mentally), stay healthier, feel more upbeat and in control, and retain their independence for longer.

Comfort Keepers make sure clients are as involved as possible in their own care. Furthermore, they take every opportunity to engage clients in activities they enjoy. Examples include mentally stimulating things like puzzles and hobbies, physical activities like taking a walk, and social activities like going to concerts, plays, and church, or visiting friends.

Comfort Keepers and Families: Equal Partners

Families can choose, with our help, to be as involved as they are able or wish to be in their loved one’s care. We provide respite care services for families who need a break from actively caring for a loved one. We are able to schedule Comfort Keepers to come in on an as-needed basis, in order to let the family caregiver rest, re-energize, work, or handle other responsibilities.

Many families live a long distance away from their loved one, and therefore cannot regularly participate in caregiving. Regardless of a family’s involvement level, Comfort Keepers makes sure that family members are completely informed about not only their loved one’s care, but also any changes in health or needs that may arise.

Services We Offer

We at the Woodburn Comfort Keepers present a broad selection of in-home care services, which can be precisely customized so as to provide just the right type of senior care that a senior needs in order to lead an independent, safe life. Up to over-night, or 24/7 in-home care, we will schedule any number of senior care hours which are needed.

Our list of services:

  • Meal Preparation: With this service we offer seniors a lot more convenience. As Comfort Keepers fix meals they will adhere to any dietary restrictions and requirements in order to ensure that the senior receives adequate nutrition for healthy living. Comfort Keepers also join seniors for meals, thereby providing companionship and promoting emotional health.
  • Companionship Care: Companionship care includes meal preparation, some housekeeping, conversation, medication reminders, light dressing and grooming assistance, and incidental transportation
  • Respite Care: This service allows family caregivers a chance to rest and handle other responsibilities. A Comfort Keeper can be scheduled to come in on an as-needed basis.
  • Personal Care: This type of service helps clients retain dignity. A Comfort Keeper assists with hygiene, eating, skin care, toileting and incontinence, as well as mobility.
  • Fall Prevention: Falling is a major threat to the health of seniors, since, according to the Centers for Disease Control, one third of seniors falls each year. Comfort Keepers are specially trained to lower this risk.  Not only do Comfort Keepers help in removing tripping hazards from the home, they also help seniors with mobility and transferring in and out of bed and chairs. Furthermore, they keep a close watch for health problems which might increase the risk of falling as well as providing medication reminders and opportunities for the proper amount of exercise.
  • Comfort Keepers’ SafetyChoice Technology Solutions: The devices provided with this type of care are monitored 24/7 to keep seniors safe when a senior caregiver is not with them. As a complement to personal care, these devices act like a virtual Comfort Keeper. One example is a PERS, Personal Emergency Response System, which allows seniors to call for help 24/7 just by pushing a button. We also have a medication reminder device so that seniors remember to take their medications as prescribed.
  • Post-Hospital Care and Support: Post-hospital care is meant to help clients recover and recuperate after coming home from the hospital.
  • In-home Safety Assessments: Related to Fall Prevention care, this service provides thorough assessment to make the home a safer place. Comfort Keepers will recommend alterations like grab bars, brighter lighting, and first floor bedrooms, to make the home a senior safe haven.
  • Mobility Assistance: This service helps seniors get around safely both in their home and on trips out of the house. Comfort Keepers are also trained to watch out for indications that seniors might need assistive devices to move about safely.
  • Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care: Specially trained Comfort Keepers provide care necessary to promote life quality and at-home safety for persons suffering from dementia.
  • Hospice and End of Life Care: Comfort Keepers provide companionship and personal care to those who have been diagnosed with a fatal disease. This is meant to accompany nursing care and promote comfort and quality of life.

Senior Care Partners

Comfort Keepers has affiliated itself with a number of different senior and health care providers in order to provide clients with a more comprehensive array of services. Often, we collaborate with rehab centers, hospice care agencies, and skilled home health care organizations. For example, we help seniors who have just left a rehabilitation facility to follow exercise programs created by a physical therapist.

Furthermore, we act with hospitals to aide our seniors in making an easy transition coming back home after they are discharged. We can also help with the reverse process. Our Comfort Keepers have been specially trained and are experienced in helping seniors make the shift from living at home to moving to a senior care facility (independent living, assisted living, or skilled care nursing home). In addition, we can offer any of our services clients might need during their stay in a senior care facility.
